Vertigo & Moon Bar

Vertigo Moon & Bar , The rooftop of Banyan Tree hotel, on the 61st floor, features both the Moon Bar and the Vertigo restaurant, under Bangkok sky, offering a spectacular view of the city at night, and a particularly romantic experience.

I haven’t dined in Vertigo yet and so, I cannot provide you with much information about it. However, I’ve visited the Moon Bar many times, and consider it to be the best Sky bar in Bangkok, better than the famous Sirocco.

The Moon Bar is very refined and elegantly designed, as one would expect of a high-quality hotel as the Banyan Tree. The atmosphere is extremely romantic and the breathtaking view surrounds you in a 360 degrees’ spread. Both the bar and the restaurant are under the open sky and thus do not fit a rainy weather (the best alternative on a rainy night is the bar situated on the 32 floor of the Hilton hotel).

The drinks are rather pricey compared to regular bars in Bangkok, but certainly reasonable for a stylish place as the Moon bar. For instance, a glass of French konjac would cost you 9 dollars, a bottle of beer would cost you 6 dollars etc. The bottom line is that a couple will spend here some 25 dollars for two drinks and a snack/small plate – certainly a reasonable price considering the quality location, experience and atmosphere.

Opening Hours: The Moon bar opens from 5 PM to 1 AM; the Vertigo restaurant closes at 23:00

Location: The Banyan Tree hotel on South Sathorn street

Arrival: the nearest train station is the Subway’s Lumpini stop, but since it requires further walking, I recommend simply taking a taxi

An Important Note: the place has a dress code, so don’t come wearing shorts and flip flops, because you won’t be allowed to enter. While there is no need for bow-ties, cocktail dresses and pant suits, the place does have certain requirements: long pants and closed shoes for men, and a smart-casual dress for women. Have fun visiting, it’s highly recommended!

FWY: TipTop-Travel Private Family Adventure Tours enables you to include a visit to Vertigo & Moon Bar in the Bangkok evening tour program.

I’ve attached a small presentation to provide you with a glimpse of the place.
