Kayaking on Tha Lane Bay ( Lane Bay Kayaking ), Tha Lane bay is located in Krabi province, a little to the north of Klong Muang Beach in Krabi and less than an hour away by car from the famous Ao Nang Beach, on the main road from Krabi to Phang Nga town and Phang Nga’s Bay beach.
This is an ideal location for nature lovers who come to the area which offers a relatively easy access to its wild nature tourist attractions – Phang Nga bay and Ko Hong Island, Tanbok Koranee National Park, (an article about it will be published shortly), Ton Pariwat National Park with its white water rafting, the Emerald Pool and Hot Springs, Krabi’s zip-lines, and Ko Yao – one of the only islands in Phang Nga bay where wild nature has reminded almost untouched by the crowds of tourists, (an article about Ko Yao Island will be published shortly).
Although Tha Lan bay is close to Krabi’s tourist attractions, it is still a wonderful untouched natural jewel, a bit hidden away from the crowds of tourist. Even though some tourists have already discovered Tha Lane bay it has not been ruined by tour buses and big ships bringing lots of tourists there – so I highly recommend you go there before the area is spoiled.
This magnificent bay is beautifully decorated with huge limestone rocks towering over Mangrove forests with plenty of wild life and greenery, creating breathtaking canyons, lagoons and a lovely picture of scenery. Although the area has not been declared a national park yet, (soon to become one), its nature has reminded almost untouched.
You can either take a kayak by yourself or take a guide which will do the kayaking for you. This makes kayaking possible for anyone, even toddlers can enjoy it, (as you will see in the video at the end of this article).
The Kayak course takes 2-3 hours, passing through the area’s canyons and lagoons so you can enjoy Tha Lane bay’s peaceful and beautiful scenery up close. On your way, you will go through the huge limestone rocks and Mangrove forests covering the area and see the many bird species, monkeys and big lizards living there. ( Lane Bay Kayaking)
There are some very nice resorts on Tha Lane bay and you can stay overnight there and take cruises to other attractions from there, such as Phang Nga bay and Ko Hong Island. Tanbok Koranee National Park, (an article about it will be published shortly), Ton Pariwat National Park with its white water rafting, the Emerald Pool and Hot Springs, Krabi’s zip-lines and Ko Yao island – one of the only islands in Phang Nga Bay which have not been ruined by the crowds of tourists, (an article about Ko Yao Island will be published shortly).
Summary: I can summarize Tha Lane bay in 4 words – Do Not Miss It!
