Kaeng Krachan National Park spreads over 3,000 square Km. It begins on the eastern slopes of Tenasserim mountains which border with Myanmar and spreads over half of Petchburi province and vast areas of Hua Hin district (Prachuap Khiri Khan province).
Cha Am offers great beaches, plenty of hotels and lodgings of all sorts and price levels, as well as various attractions, including local tours, amusement parks and even a great outlet called Premium Outlet.
When name brands and designer shopping is the topic –Premium Outlet Hua Hin is the senior outlet plaza in the area. It is no doubt the best outlet in the area and in my opinion, one of the best in Thailand. It offers a big variety of international brand names at especially low prices.
As the national park receives a lot of rain and there is plenty of water on the Petchburi river the Thai government has built a dam over it to allow for an all year round even water flow. Therefore Petchburi River Rafting is possible on all seasons.
Kaeng Krachan National Park is an ideal place for nature and trek lovers and for anyone who wishes to enjoy the great variety of adventures it offers, such as Pala-U waterfalls, an easy relaxing rafting on the Petchburi river which is also a wonderful attraction for families with young children, etc.
Phetchaburi province is located a short ride away, west of Samut Songkran. It is one of Thailand’s main provinces, situated some 130 km away from Bangkok.
The entire complex was built by king Mongkut, Rama 4, who passed by, adored the beauty of the place, and decided to build his summer palace there (for the use of future kings to come after him as well).
