Not so long ago (at the end of 2014) a new Water Park, and the most elaborate one to date, has opened at the Royal Summer resort town of Hua Hin. The park joins 2 other new Water Parks located in the area, The Black Mountain Water Park and the Santorini Water Fantasy Park and an abundance of other attractions for youngsters and families in the Hua Hin Area.
The new park – “Vana Nava Jungle Water Park” is located at the heart of Hua Hin, only a few minutes’ drive from the Khao Takiab area, at the south side of the Hua Hin Resort Town.
The resort town of Hua Hin is rightly considered by many (including myself) as the best resort town in Thailand. Excellent beaches, clean sea water, an abundance of water-sport activities and even horseback riding on the beach, a few of the best waterparks in Thailand, two nature reserves, excellent restaurants, lots of markets and attractions and in the last few years, even diverse and fulfilling night life all make Hua Hin the ultimate vacation resort for many tourists and of course Thai people. The fact that the summer weather here is the best in Thailand, makes the resort even better!
Hua Hin’s beaches stretch over many miles ahead, so that anyone can find a good place to enjoy the sun. There are more secluded beaches as well as beaches with beach chairs and parasols.
In addition, to sunbathing while enjoying a cold pineapple or water melon, Hua Hin’s beaches offer plenty of marine sports: jet ski, water ski, kiteboard, and all of that without any worry about the local organized crime as can sometimes be seen elsewhere. Hua Hin beaches offer restaurants, cafés, massages and even horseback riding.
Hua Hin offers plenty of hotels and Hua Hin resorts for any spending level of – beginning with simple guesthouses for the cost of only 600 Baht and ending with lots of exclusive five star hotels.
One of the most interesting attractions which is also a great adventure, is fishing on a real fishing boat. Going fishing is best in the early morning hours or in the evening time and as there are plenty of fish in the sea so your chances of actually catching one are pretty good.
All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s) tour starts at Pranburi beach (Hua Hin area) and goes along the beaches, towards the rural area where there are plenty of Pineapple orchards and fields spread over wide areas of land, with the beautiful mountain chain at the scenery on the one hand and the pretty beaches on the other.
Santorini amusement park looks like a typical Greek village. It offers plenty of shops, restaurants and a variety of different games and adventures for all ages. Apart from the Ferris Wheel there are huge water balls, special Bungee jumping, merry-go-rounds and toy horses on which you can ride.
Kaeng Krachan National Park spreads over 3,000 square Km. It begins on the eastern slopes of Tenasserim mountains which border with Myanmar and spreads over half of Petchburi province and vast areas of Hua Hin district (Prachuap Khiri Khan province).
The Hua Hin Night Bazaar is also known as the Chat Chai Market and it is located right at the center of the vacation town – starting from the main street of Hua Hin, the Phetchkasem Street up to the spectacular train station of Hua Hin – along the Dechanuchit Street which is actually a pedestrian mall and vehicles are prohibited from driving there.
Bangkok is a shopping Mecca and full of shopping centers popular with both Thais and tourists. Most shopping centers (and the largest ones) are not found in the center of Bangkok. Here we have put together a list with a variety of shopping centers. Those located centrally that are jam packed with masses of tourists and those who mainly serve residents and whose atmosphere is entirely different from shopping centers located in the more touristy locations.
Located in a park at the south of Hua Hin, you will find Cicada Market. The market is found in Khao Tabiab district of Hua Hin – at a distance of a few minutes from the town center.
This market is completely different than any other market you will ever see in Thailand. It is more of a bazaar really and it is very well kept. As the market is located in a park and opens only during the relatively cool evening hours, it is a lovely way to spend some time outdoors.
Khao Takiab is the name of a very famous cliff at the south of Hua Hin, the royal holiday town. The area/neighborhood located at the foot of the cliff, which surrounds it from all its sides is also called Khao Takiab. Khao Takiab actually means Chopsticks in the Thai language. The cliff is located appox 7 Km. from the center of Hua Hin town and indicates its southern city line.
When name brands and designer shopping is the topic –Premium Outlet Hua Hin is the senior outlet plaza in the area. It is no doubt the best outlet in the area and in my opinion, one of the best in Thailand. It offers a big variety of international brand names at especially low prices.
As the national park receives a lot of rain and there is plenty of water on the Petchburi river the Thai government has built a dam over it to allow for an all year round even water flow. Therefore Petchburi River Rafting is possible on all seasons.
About an hour drive south of Hua Hin, the royal holiday town, lays one of the most beautiful bays in Thailand, Ao Manao Bay. This amazingly pretty natural jewel hides many more tourists attractions, apart from those offered to almost every tourist visiting Thailand. The reason for that is pretty simple – Ao Manao Bay is located half way between Bangkok and the south and most tourists do this distance by flight, so they end up missing this wonderful area.
Pranburi is a charming small and peaceful beach town located between the royal holiday town of Hua Hin and Sam Roy Yot National Park, approx. 20 minute drive south of Hua Hin.
Kaeng Krachan National Park is an ideal place for nature and trek lovers and for anyone who wishes to enjoy the great variety of adventures it offers, such as Pala-U waterfalls, an easy relaxing rafting on the Petchburi river which is also a wonderful attraction for families with young children, etc.
Sam Roy Yot National Park is a diverse one, you can find the biggest swamp in Thailand there, as well as an abundance of beaches, rivers, mountains, caves and many species of animals and
